Radio

At 15 years old I went on work experience to 97.4 Rock FM in Lancashire. There was a pool table in reception, two of the presenters were wrestling on the floor & the “work” was all about great music & entertaining the listeners. What a life! I wanted some of this!

I continued to do work experience at radio stations all over the UK in my school & uni holidays then at 22 got my first job producing a late night phone-in on Century FM in Manchester. The host was legend Andy Crane who I remembered off kids tele! (The one with Ed the Duck.. you remember?!) At weekends I presented a breakfast show on the Galaxy FM network from Leeds. I have since gone on to present shows across many different brands & formats including Kerrang! Radio, Radio City 96.7Key 103 & Capital FM (in Scotland, North East & Manchester) & when Q Radio relaunched in 2008 I was invited to join the team, initially hosting the weekend breakfast shows before going on to present the midmorning programme until the station closed in May 2013.

I’ve spent the last 4 years hosting the weekday drive show on Wireless Group station Wire FM. During my time here the station achieved it’s highest ever listening figures & in November 2015 I was delighted to be shortlisted for Presenter of the Year at the O2 Awards. Only a month later I was crowned Presenter of the Year at the UTV Awards.

I currently host the weekday afternoon show for BBC Radio Cumbria after a short stint doing weekends for them & for BBC Radio Lancashire earlier this year. As a newbie in the BBC family I am in love with the relatable, local content I am encouraged to present & feel so at home hosting personality led radio programmes.
